Tara Tarini is a revered Hindu pilgrimage site located in Odisha ,India .It is Known For its Twin Hilltops, each crowned with a Temple dedicated to the Goddesses Tara and Tarini. The site holdes depth spiritual significance for devotees who visit to blessings, guidance, and fulfillment of there wishes.

        This important and fomaus Shakti Pitha is situated on a hill top at a distance of 30kms towards north of Brahmapur on the south bank of river Rushikulya. the height of the hill is approximately 708ft and total area spreading over 180 Acres of land. The hill is popularly Known Tara Tarini hill and is surrounded by natural beauty.

History of Tara Tarini Temple:

         The Temple of Tara Tarini has an intersting legend.it is the place where the breasts of goddess sati (Lord shiva's wife) fell when lord Vishnu dissevered her body into 51 pieces in order to stop Lord shivas Tandav Nritya.it is said that the breats of sati fell at the Kumari hills on the bank of river Rushikulya and thus famous Tara Tarini shakta pitha arose at this place.

Built of Tara Tarini temple:

      Built on a hillock,the Tara tarini Temple boasts a resplendent artwork of Kalinga architecture and is ornamented with vibrant scuptures.it is also embellished with scuptured panels.made up of ancientrock stone,ornamented with gold and silver and are about 10ft high.

The month of october to february(winter season) are considered as the  best time to explore Tara Tarini temple in Ganjam district.
