Bhubaneswar is the Capital of the Indian state Odisha, and a regional hub. Bhubaneswar means "Lord of World". Many temples are present in this city, so it is also called "Temple city of India.it is religious center in Odisha from the Middle Aged. It is a planned city of modern India. In 1948,Bhubaneswar become political capital of Odisha. Before this, it was Cuttack. Bhubaneswar and cuttack are together called "Twin-cities" of Odisha.
The city seamlessly blends its rich cultural heritage with modernity. known for its ancient temples, vibrant markets and serene green spaces, Bhubaneswar offers
a multitude of experiences for every traveler. whatever you are a history buff, a natural lover or a food enthusiast, Bhubaneswar has something special in store for every travelers.
It is the biggest and assumed to be the oldest temples of the city.one of the highly visited temples of the state, most likely after the Jagannath temple. Linjaraj temple is a shiva temple. The temple is huge strict security. you are not allowed to take your phones, cameras, ,umbrella any electric Instrunment or any short bag inside. some one who travel on public transport, you have to deposit your possessions to the temple authority and then go inside the temple.
The grandeur of shree Lingaraj Temple is exceptionally overwhelming
because of its mighty structure. built from sandstone andlaterite, the main tower stands at 55 meters in height. The holy Bindusagar pond is the largest pond of Bhubaneswar and its holy water is stretched about 22 acres of land connected with natural streams of water. on its eastern side the famous medicinal garden is present.in its eastern side the famous shree Anatabasudev temple is present. The holy Mahaprasad of fifty six types are cooked here and offered to Harihar.

Udayagiri and Khandagiri Caves ,Formerly called Cuttack caves, are partly natural and partly artificial caves of archaeological, historical and religious importance near the city Bhubaneswar in Odisha.The caves are situated on two adjacent hills, Udayagiri and Khandagiri mentioned as kumari parvata in the Hathigumpha inscription. it is believed that most of these caves were carved out as residental blocks for Jain monks during the reign of king Kharavela. Udayagiri has 18 caves and khandagiri has 15 caves.
The most important of this group was Ranigumpha in Udayagiri which is a double storeyed monastery.other important caves are Hati Gumpha, Ganesh Gumpha,Jaya Vijaya Gumpha, Sapra Gumpha.
Nandanakanan Zoological park is a premier large zoo of India. Unlike others zoos in country, Nandanakanan is built inside the forest and set in a completely natural environment. The meaning of Nandanakanan means in mythology is delineates the ecstatic but imaginary beauty of the celestial garden.
The zoo is enriched with 210 enclosures with at Nandanakanan.it has the significance of having both the cages and open moat enclosures. There are 116 cages and 94 open moated enclosures to house all the captive animals of Nandanakanan. Nandanakanan has created place for successful captive breeding of endangered Gharilas in 1980.Birth of white tiger from normal colored tigers has given a special place to Nandanakanan over the world as one of the major host zoo for white tigers.
A unique White tiger safari was established in the Zoological Park on 1st October 1991.It is 1st white tiger safari in India. Wonderful site for Wildlife conservation and education where one can experience integration of ex-situ and in-situ conservation of wild fauna and flora. The park sees over two million visitors every year. The park works towards preserving endangered species and creating a natural habitat for them.
It is the 11th-century popular Hindu temple that can be found in Bhubaneswar, The Rajarani Temple is locally known as the 'Love Temple' Because it contains some sensuous carvings of women and couples. No images can be found inside the sanctum, and hence temple is not associated with any particular sect of Hinduism.
The temple belongs to no specific sect and is open to all people irrespective sect and is open all people irrespective of the deity that they worship and admire. However, the figures of Lord Shiv and Parvati carved on the walls strongly indicate that the temple has certain associations with Shaivism.
There are various on the temple walls and the vimana, depicting scenes of the marriage of Shiva, Nataraja, Parvati and include tall, slender, sophisticated females in various roles and moods such as turning her head from an emaciated ascetic, folding her child, holding a branch of trees, lookin into mirror, caressing her pet bird and playing a musical Instrument.
There is a famous festival associated with this temple and it is Organized every year from 18th-20th January by the Department of Tourism of the Government of Odisha. this festival is visited by numerous devotees and local people from the surrounding areas and consists of three form of music like Carnatic, Odissi and Hindustani.

Odisha State Museum is an institute of inestimable international efflorescence. The state museum is a Houses of a fine collection of religious sculptures, coins, copper plates, stone inscriptions, areomors, rare bronze age tools, Geological objects. To see many galleries on offer would easily for me the best presented galleries were the ones I was a little more interested in seeing .the galleries concerning natural history. The state Museum gardens are actually are more like a park in themselves.
It is locater at Nayapali in the smart city Bhubaneswar. The Park developed by the Regional plant resources center has gained the distribution of becoming a major center of Eco-friendly public recreation covering an area of 487 acres. The botanical garden offers a wide range of habitats like a man made lake, hillocks and parks which attracts visitors and nature lovers for its enthralling landscape.
The recreation and relaxation facilities provided to the public includes the lake with boating provision, Children's corners, a musical fountain and morning health walking. A birdwatch Tower act as a strategic point of the bank of the Lake.
Pathani Samanta Planetorium is a planetarium inside the metropolis of Bhubaneswar in India named after astronomer Pathani Samanta. A Planetarium is a theatre built mainly for supplying educational and wonderful shows approximately astronomy and the night time sky for training in celestial navigation. The basic purpose of this Planetarium to make people aware about astronomy, astrophysics and space science and to generate awareness about their environment.
Opening and closing time:
The Planetarium runs 6 days per week where Monday is a Holiday. Everyday usually four shows are conducted between 2 pm to 6 pm in different languages-two in Odia(2..00 pm to 5.pm),one in Hindi(3.00 pm) and one in English(4.00 pm).
Chilika Lake is the largest brackish water lagoon in Asia and accond largest coastal lagoon in the world, spread over the Puri, Khordha and Ganjam Districts of Odisha state on the east coast of India, at the mouth of Daya River, flowing in the Bay of Bangle, covering an area of over 1100 square kilometers
The lake also act as one of the most supportive eco system in the name of Chilika Lake Sanctuary. it is the largest wintering ground for migratory birds on the Indian sub continent. birds from the Caspian Sea, lake Baikal, Aral Sea and other remote parts of Russia. Chilika in fact, home to one of the worlds largest breeding colonies of Flamingos.
Being Richly famous for the presence of aquatic wildlife, Chilika lake sanctuary also houses Irrawaddy Dolphins which are different from the other Dolphins as there color from the avifaunal species, the region also highlights varied animals such as Golden Jackals, Spotted Deer, Blackbuck and Hyenas, one of the most tourist Attractions near Chilika Lake is Kalijai Temple.
Chilika Lake is the most popular destination for eco-tourism in Odisha. about from that the Lake and its vicinity hold a rich floral system with abundance of aquatic as well as non aquatic plants. Boating at the Chilika is one of the most popular activities.
Chilika Lake can be visited year round how ever the time from November to February is the best time. Especially, it is the season for migratory birds and hence it is even more exciting to explore this Lake during these months.
Kalijai Temple is located on oa island in Chilika Lake. it is considered to be the abode of the Goddess Kalijai. Goddess Kalijai is actually Kali,the source and the first 'Mahavidy' of 'Dasmahavidyas' Highly revered by the local population, the deity has been venerated in the local folklores and legends. There is a story behind the place which is centered around an innocent girl called Kalijai who got married and was going by boat along with here in-laws through this Lake, in between heavy storms came and everybody including kalijai died in the storm .local Tourist, Fishermen pray Goddess Kalijai everyday for their safe journey in the lake. The island provides an excellent destination for pilgrims as well tourists. Every year in January, a huge gala fair is held during the festival of Makar Sankranti.
The meaning of Satapada is 'Sata' means 'seven' and 'pada' means 'Village', so the name Satapada means group of seven Villages. Satapada is the ultimate place to watch Irrawaddy Dolphins. A rare bread of Dolphins are found here. If you are lucky then you will able to see Dolphins during your boat ride. since last few years this spot is a major tourist attraction because of the development of Dolphin sanctuary.
Birds Island is a place of entertainment of varieties of residential birds. many types of birds migrat hare from different parts of the World during the winter season. some the island is cover with herbs Shrubs, trees and Creepers. the granite rocks are remnants of Eastern Ghats. some of the huge rocks are painted white because of the folic acid from the dropping of the birds. During the winter season the migratory birds are coming to this land in a large proportion.
Honeymoon Island
Honeymoon Island is located in Rambha Bay near Sankuda Island and it is 5km distance from Rambha jetty This land is also called as Barracuda Island. Britishers used this land for Picnic purposes. The waters around the Island are very clear and the ambiance is perfect to enjoy your day here.
This Island is an architectural marvel with a conical pillar and a small room constructed on the submerged mass of rock in the Rambha bay near Ghantasila hill. The pillar was constructed to put a light on the top. The water spread around the beacon Island very charming, surrounded by the Eastern Ghat.
This is another Bird's paradise which has been attracting a lot of Tourists over the years .If you are a photographer who loves to clicking varied wildlife is one of the best location.so spend some time in this place where you can get some wonderful pictures of birds.in winter season this place is inhabited by nearly hundreds of species migratory birds along with the resident of ones and the sight of them together is captivating.
By train :Puri and Balugaon are the nearest Railway Station to reach Chilika Lake .you can also come Bhubaneswar through Rail and come by Cab or bus to chilika.
